A downtown café.

Alvin speaks to Roberta, a server.

Roberta: We’re trying to get better with our coffee.

Alvin: Yeah.

Roberta: Make a better cup.

Alvin: Sure.

Roberta: There’s always something else happening. This morning…

Alvin: Is that window broken?

Roberta: This morning, someone just smashed the window, just smashed it. The owner was in here baking with her mom. She was like: “Yes? And what do you want?” And apparently, the guy just stared through the broken window and had nothing to say. They just stared at each other.
